Anthime Miller (they/them) is an internationally celebrated composer, performer, and educator based in Brooklyn. They began studying cello at the age of eight, and began studying with Ann Alton at Skidmore College at the age of thirteen. They studied Early Music Performance (Baroque Cello) at McGill University in Montreal and Musical Theater at Circle in the Square Theater School in New York City. Outside of teaching they are a member of several professional orchestras and chamber ensembles across North America and Western Europe and also arrange, compose, and produce works of music

Anthime is especially talented at incorporating aural theory, musicianship, sight reading, and singing practice into lessons at every level. They integrate physical and breathing warm-ups that support more than the student's playing. Anthime carries backgrounds in a variety of different skill sets so they can identify and prescribe things for students that generally fall outside of the typical classical mindset. Anthime can additionally  teach students in both English and French.

Beyond cello, Anthime is a professional composer and performer. They are a frequent collaborator with Catherine Reid and most recently, they have co-written a piece about essential workers and the pandemic - What Their Eyes Have Seen, which premiered at The Hyde Museum in May 2022. Anthime is also the co-founder and arranger of Brooklyn's premier live-scored silent film series, Resounding Silents, as well as the co-founder and arranger of the New York City chamber music series, Mini Masterworks.
